Recently my husband and I welcomed our beautiful daughterVera Leigh to the world. Being our first child we have spent much time talkingabout the things we would like to surround her by as she grows up. It is importantto both of us to provide her with an enriching environment filled with thingsthat instill our values of earth friendly products for her to play with and besurrounded by. After studying art for three years at the Nova Scotia College ofArt and Design I fell in love with mixed media art. I found myself exploringthis art form and began seeing the things around me as potential to becomesomething new. Junk week became a huge adventure as I drove around gatheringother peoples “garbage” from the curb and taking it home to my veryunderstanding husband. Up-cycledprovides me with an outlet for my ideas and allows me to combine my love forunique children’s products with my interestin earth smart products.
